Green News Now : How CBD helped me travel with kids
Ahh vacation. It’s the thing we all look forward to. But what is a vacation? By definition a vacation is a leave of absence from a regular occupation, or a specific trip or journey, usually for the purpose of recreation or tourism.
So what is a trip? A Trip is a journey or voyage.
The key phrase is leave of absence from the regular. Traveling with kids is not a vacation. It's a trip. You still have the same childhood and sibling arguments just in a different location. Kind of like the holidays. People are off school and work, but it is by no means a vacation.
Our trip was to Disney. I have always wanted to see Disney during the holidays. The kids had 2 extra days off school and it just so happens it was our anniversary, because who doesn’t want to spend their anniversary with their kids and thousands of others at the happiest place on earth? So off we went.
Disney is the most magical and happiest place on earth, but that doesn’t mean you will be the happiest with the childhood drama and crowds and family dynamic that never takes a vacation. However, traveling armed with CBD proved to be the best packed item of this trip.
Each day started with cbd topical slathering of the feet, knees and back for the whole family, young and old alike. This kept the tired joints and muscles of these much-worked areas pain and inflammation free for 7 mile a day walks through the parks. For breakfast, each of us used CBD infused honey in our morning drinks. My husband and I also took a soft gel.
During the day we travel armed for the day’s physical aches and emotional stressors. We packed CBD suckers as well as CBD gummies. This made for great mid-day pain relief as well as calm the tension from a very over stimulated environment. Disney can be a 12-hour day of constant input, so this daily plan was a savior for adults and kids alike.
At the end of each day after showers and warm drinks with CBD honey, again the topical slathering was repeated along with light therapy. (Having mini light pad for travel is key)
Though our trip still had its moments, on our last day while waiting for the bus a man asked if it was our first day because we were all so happy. We replied, “no its our last” with smiles and some tears (my kids didn’t want to leave). I shared how many steps total we walked, 142,679 steps in case you were wondering, and he asked don’t your feet burn or hurt. It was at that point I realized how much our CBD regimen helped. No our feet didn’t hurt, nor did we argue or have melts downs. In short, this was the best trip our family has ever taken.
