Green News Now: Our turbulent times
Today’s world is beyond comprehensions. It’s important we remain aware of not only our reactions but of our local community needs. This is a collective experience. Here are a few helpful tips…
All essential stores will stay open; stores offering food, services such as computers, wellness and medical spaces. Call ahead to ensure stores are open. Many stores are moving to curbside pick-up or free shipping to continue to serve our community. Buy what you need for 2 weeks not 10.
Physical wellness is key for your immune system working properly. Stay hydrated, get plenty of sleep, MOVE! With so many people working from home it’s easy to lose hours sitting in the same position. Keep your blood flowing by keeping your body moving. Visit local yoga studios websites for online courses. There are some great online workouts on BeachBodyOnline.com and DailyBurn.com with wide ranges of workout styles and lengths. Go for a walk.
Mental wellness plays a huge roll in how your body fights off physical and mental stress. You can actually think yourself into illness so be mindful of where your thoughts are going in the midst of this chaos. There are several mobile meditation apps and great guided sessions on YouTube. Our favorite free apps are Mindspace and Insight Timer.
Unplug! Watching 24/7 news will drive you mad so make sure you get a good laugh in every hour. Breathe deep, enjoy family, be grateful for what you have. This too shall pass.
