Green News Now: Get 'em Checked
October is breast cancer awareness month. It's sad to say that I don't know anyone who had not been touched by breast cancer either with thirty personal fight or someone in their family or friend circle. There was a time that breast cancer was a death sentence with little hope of survival. Through modern technology we can find cancer months sometimes years faster than our preceding generations.
An estimated 269,000 people will have been diagnosed this year. Over 80% of those diagnosed have a survival rate over 10 years. That still means over 42,000 people will lose their fight. It's very possible someone reading this article had or will be diagnosed with cancer in the
next year.
There is no known “cure” for cancer but we have all heard of treatments such as chemotherapy, targeted therapy, mastectomy, hormone therapy and even stem cell transplant. But there are many promising treatments being studied as well such as nutrition and vitamins, stress, cannabinoids (CBD) and even infrared.
In 2016, researchers noted that the use of cannabinoids shows promise in the fight against cancer. The authors found that cannabinoids seem to inhibit the growth of many different types of tumor cell in both test tubes and animal models. This has since been translated to human study with similar results.
According to WebMD there may be a connection between nutrition vitamin levels and cancer. Possible effective supplements to show positive impact include: Beta-carotene, Olive, Soy and Vitamin A.
Near-infrared photoimmunotherapy uses an anti-body-photoabsorber conjugate that binds to cancer cells. When near-infrared light is applied, the cells swell and then burst, causing the cancer cell to die. Photoimmunotherapy is in clinical trials in patients with inoperable tumors. See video link below.
Alkaline water is said to help counteract the acid that's found in your bloodstream. ... Some theorize that this will starve any cancer cells found in your body because cancer cells thrive in an acidic environment. Introducing something alkaline is said to slow or stop cancer growth by balancing your body's pH levels
We all have cells that could one day become cancerous and sometimes DNA is not on our side. But we also have the ability to make choices that could alter our path. So get checked, eat a well rounded healthy diet, enjoy life, reduce stress and live happily. Support those around you fighting the cancer fight because support from others goes a long way.
