This recently in! Senators from North Carolina have introduced two separate bills to legalize medicinal cannabis and recreational cannabis respectively. NCHB 711 would allow for the legalization of cannabis for medical use in the hopes of curtailing the state's debilitating dependence on opioids. NCHB 617 aims to take it a step further by establishing appropriate offices, laws and regulations and allowing for the recreational use of cannabis and personal grow of up to 12 plants. 

This would establish an entirely new industry in our state, creating a whole breadth of new jobs at all levels like administrative, retail, farming and beyond. In addition, with our neighbor to our north having recently passed very similar legislation, our cannabis future is looking brighter than ever. Write to your senators and tell them you support legalizing cannabis in North Carolina! We need to inform our congressional representatives that we, as North Carolinians, support the use of this plant. The industry will help to uplift our once great farming heart and help to relieve the dependence of opioids that has gripped out state. As well as, the criminalization of its use is beyond antiquated and needs to end and affects North Carolinians unequally. Together, we can be the change we want to see in the world!
